A 16-year-old girl was arrested in Creek County on Monday after threats were made toward schools in Adair and Mayes counties, according to Pryor Creek police.

Chief Jeremy Cantrell told KRMG it began in Adair County when officials were notified of threats made toward schools in that area. Cantrell said Pryor schools were also mentioned in those same Snapchat posts.

In response to the threats, Pryor Creek police, Mayes County deputies, state troopers and GRDA police helped provide extra security around Pryor Public Schools campuses.

Chief Cantrell said the 16-year-old female suspected of making those threats was arrested in Creek County Monday morning.

He said the suspect was being held at a juvenile detention center in Mayes County facing charges to be determined by the district attorney.
